21 Strand Street.

Growing The Strand

Panacea Property has submitted a planning application to replace it’s existing Strand House building on Liverpool’s Strand Street.

The new development would be 16-storeys high and stand alongside the One Park West apartment complex, creating a new line of level flow along the busy inner city boulevard.

Originally taller, pre-planning meetings with Liverpool city council reduced the height from 21-storeys in response to concerns about retaining the city’s UNESCO World Heritage status.

If built, it would contain 391 apartments and include terraces in the upper levels for residents. In addition, landscaping of the area surrounding the building’s base would provide a positive input to the city centre environment via section 106 money.

Materials for the property have been informed by the pallet of the Strand’s newer buildings, including it’s direct neighbour One Park West.

This building complex is being assessed by Liverpool City Council’s planning department at the moment. If you have any input on the plans, please leave a comment with the planning team via their website here.
