Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter which is undergoing extensive expansion with the creation of the Paddington Village, is set to be home to a new £35m gold hotel which will be 18-stories high.
Based opposite the new Royal Liverpool Hospital in the new district, the new hotel will give visitors to the Knowledge Quarter an exceptionally close place to stay whilst conducting either academic or health-related business. It will contain a bar, restaurant and a gym.
Paddington Village will also going to be home to the prestigious Royal College of Physicians’ northerns base, which will centre in a building called ‘The Spine’.
The hotel operations will be undertaken by international hotel brand Novotel, and will house 140 rooms. In addition, an extra 60 “upscale” aparthotel rooms will be provided.
Construction on the new hotel will commence in 2019, and be completed by 2021.
