Duke Street in the heart of Liverpool’s RopeWalks district is to play host to a new jobs hub.
The site – number 90 Duke Street, sits at the end of Slater Street and is opposite The Monro pub. It had formerly been the site of a vinegar works who’s façade was the subject of intense lobbying by the ‘Save’ history group to remain intact.
Instead a new copper and brick building is in its place and ready to welcome an asset to help the day-to-day needs of the people of Liverpool.
Duke Street has seen its fortunes reversed from it’s extreme decline into an essential part of the city, with many new bars and restaurants lining the path into Liverpool ONE from RopeWalks.
City centre living has increased by 25% in the past 15 years, and with it the need for such essential institutions to also live side by side it’s citizens.
What do you think of the news of the new Job Centre opening?
