Liverpool Waters is a proposed £5.5bn regeneration scheme located at 60 hectares of prime Liverpool waterfront.
The docklands are derelict in this part of the city, so developer Peel wants to turn it into the five new districts of downtown Liverpool.
Outline planning permission has been granted by the local council and the UK government, and each individual building and public space will be looked at later in detail. The land has been cut up into plots, which are now being offered to potential investors wishing to capitalise on Liverpool’s growing reputation for excellence in the leisure, science and technology industries.
Here is what the docklands look like today. Some of the land at Central docks is now being introduced to the public through events such as 2014’s giant spectacular, and the on-going annual Sound City music festival.
