BOLD STREET GUY: LIVERPOOL IN FASHION EDITION TWO..

CAPTURING THE ICONS PART II

In Liverpool there has never been a shortage of people expressing themselves in one form or another. But whereas you have to wait to encounter the music or poetry of the heart, fashion is another thing altogether. It’s instant. It’s hugely personal. It’s creativity in action. And it’s unavoidable.

One man who aims to capture the essence of this visual movement is Dave Knight – a photographer who has been drawn to the Streets of Liverpool, and in particular Bold Street.

Photography has been a passion of his since around 1977, but he’s focused on Bold Street for the last 5 years or so.

Future Liverpool asked him:

Why do you take notice of Bold Street?

I love the style and diversity of looks that Liverpool and particular Bold Street offers. I often described Bold Street as a tidal wave of coolness coming into and out of the city. If I don’t catch them one way, I’ll catch them the other. I love style and meeting new people, the photography sometimes is a bonus.

But what do you want to achieve with your photographs?

To meet new people every time I go out, speak about arts, music, styles. I have met and kept in touch with some amazing people, I just love it. I love the connections I make through my photography and the people I meet.
